So soon...
I can't believe we're leaving so soon...Today we were commissioned by Darlene Cunningham she talked about the pile of stones that the Israelites left after crossing the river jordan. What we need are these stones. We need to remember what God has done in the past in order to keep our faith alive. She told a story at the begining of YWAM and how her and Loren needed $500 in a matter of hours, and it was totally unexpected. She prayed "Lord I believe, help me overcome my disbelief." A contractor came over and gave them the $500 specifically because he felt that God told him to do so that morning. So this was one of the first stones in her life....she walks around campus saying "Lord, I remember the $500." When God does things in our life, we need to be thankful and remember. So her charge for us as we leave is to write down and pile stones as a reminder for our future and for future generations.

Dear Joel;
I have 2 stones for you
#1 - You sent us out looking for shoe laces for your Solomon shoes. They were VERY DIFFICULT to find. When we finally found them they were the ONLY pair that REI had in their store. When Dad went to pick them up and pay for them the clerk said...."Oh, we will just give them to you for free."
#2 - When I went to mail those laces to you it was on a day that my schedule was PACKED. I waited in a VERY LONG line at the post office. When I got to 2nd place from the front I started to dig around in my purse for my wallet. Oh NO! My wallet was missing...no money no credit card. As I stood there trying to dig for change (none) I was trying to figure out what to do and around the corner walked Marina Bovenkamp. Long story short, she gave me the money to mail you the laces.
On my way home I asked the Lord "why did all of this happen? He seemed to say to me "I am trying to show you that I see your needs and that I take responsibility to meet them." It is not that I could not afford the $1.35 it took to mail the package. IT was that I simply did not have what I needed at the time I needed it. I needed someone to provide for and help me. God took advantage of that opportunity to teach me of His faithfullness and of His loving watchful care.
I hope this blesses you too Joel
with love and hugs, Mom
