Joel and Jim's adventures...

Since i'm goingto be leaving for my DTS in two months, my friend Jim and I decided we needed to go on adventure beforehand. So friday night we decided to go to Ross lake. We drove out there, started hiking about 10pm and hiked until we were so tired we could sleep anywhere. We had seen quite a few animals so we were needing a good place to sleep, and there is basically nowhere to set up a tent. So by 1:15 we had hiked to this "resort" which was basically a bunch of floating cabins tied together and we found an open woodshed and slept there for the night. We were awoken at 8ish by someone turning on the light, but he didnt' see us, so we quickly packed up our stuff and hiked on out of there. Only one person saw us, and we just waved and kept walking. We trail blazed to a good spot to have a fire and then we had oatmeal, and bacon for breakfast. (I made a decent size fire around a large rock and then once the rock was hot, we threw bacon on it and it cooked it quite nicely.) So now i'm hiked out and ready to read some more. I'm in the 4th book of the narnia series. I'm also going to be looking for a job again, and starting to send out support letters for my trip, so pray for that for me. That's my recent adventure.

Bug me not

So don't you hate it when you want to read an article online and they make you sign up for a free account just so that you can forget your password the next time you want to read an article on that site and have to do it all over again? I just found out about a web site and you paste the address in and it will give you a username and password as long as it is free to sign up. So the next time you want to read a New York Times article, go to WWW.Bugmenot.com and it will give you a username and password.

Jeremy Camp

Tonight I helped set up the Jeremy Camp concert from 9am until about 4 and then I got a little break until they had me run the main spot light for the show. I was suprised they had me do that because I have not done anything of the sort, but it made me feel kinda important. Apparently i'm going to be helping out at more concerts in the future.

Puyallup

So i came home to suprise my mom on her birthday, and suprise I did! Since I don't really have what adults call a "Job", I stayed around here and worked with my dad to earn some money, because i'm going to need a lot of money for my DTS. I plan on doing as many odd jobs as possible to help pay for my trip. For those of you who want to read more about it, here's a link:

Posted by Picasa I made it so that anyone could make a post, then immediately following I had lots of junk posts, so now you have to write one of those jumbly things to post, but anyone can post. Here's a pic from this summer. I like it.

Freaking mice...

Many of you probably wonder why I haven't been emailing you...well the answer is simple: My mouse broke. Now i have had 3 offers of people to give me a mouse, but either I forget or they forget or somehow I just manage to not get a mouse, so I'm up on campus checking my email hoping that Western won't realize i'm not a student anymore.

On a side note, I got an email friday confirming that I was accepted on my DTS to Kona!!! So I'm looking for a plane ticket right now because it's right after Christmas and it could get really expensive. So I'm really REALLY excited that I get to go, and now I just need to find a couple thousand more dollars to pay for it.

Concert!

Today i helped set up the Crowder and shanes concert and it was an amazing concert! I would say more if I wasn't so tired. Definately a highlight...unfortunately I didn't bring my camera so I have no "proof" I was there, but the memories will circle in my head....yeah, bedtime.

Donald Miller

Tonight Donald Miller is spoke at the PAC here on campus! He was much more humorous than I thought. I was suprised that Shawn Hall's band opened for him, but it was good. He was very real in a way that it sounded contra to the "church" but sound to the bible. However he did not say it in order to shock people, but in a real way that in his realness was shocking. He spoke our language, not "christianeese". I belive that God is starting something here in Bellingham.

I just got back from alaska friday and I decided instead of attempting to post all my pictures, I'd pick my favorite one. While I was in alaska, I did a great many things from dogsledding, hiking, whale watching, and driving in Skagway. The rest of my time (70+ hours a week) I was driving a bus (#253) in Juneau. Posted by Picasa

So I finally opened a blog to tell of my adventures. Once I'm able, stories will come.
